The Continental School of Beauty Culture in Upstate NY is licensed by the New York State Education Department accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmology Arts & Sciences for over 40 years. Sharon is very proud of being part of them as a Volunteer Instructor.
Grasta's Beauty Studio is very busy so the only time Sharon can give to the school is as a volunteer. She is very honored to share with her students her knowledge of wig artistry before they graduate and step into the field that she has adored and loved all of her life. Sharon has been a beautician since 1964 and has managed many beauty salons including six that she owned in Rochester. As a graduate of the Continental School of Beauty, she takes pride in extending herself to her students including graduated students. She is always available to offer help and advice. Sharon regularly attends seminars to stay current with the latest trends and to learn new techniques. On her return to the classroom, she instructs her students in these advanced methods.
Our wigs are designer quality. They feel feather light. You will forget you are wearing a Grasta wig. Our wigs are not just a wig, they are a work-of-art.

Insurance May Cover Your Wig
When you call your insurance company, tell them you are taking chemotherapy for cancer and risk the losing of your hair. Ask them if you are covered for a wig which they call a “cranial prosthesis.” Tell them the CPT code is A9292. They will tell you if you are covered. This code should cover all insurance companies. If it is a covered benefit, you need to tell them you want to be put “in network.” This way they will pay the higher percentage. No wig salons are “in network.” The durable medical equipment places only carry other prosthesis, NOT WIGS. Ask them the percentage and maximums of coverage. Ask them what you need to do and who to call to have them put you “in network.” That can be done with all insurance companies. If they say it can’t be done, ask to speak to their supervisor.
If you don’t get this information, you may make the purchase and be refused payment for the wig.
Also call twice. Sometimes you can get different answers to the same questions. Always get the person’s name you have spoken too. Medicare does not pay.
Check with your supplemental insurance company as they may pay. Tri-Care always pays 80% - 85 and up to $750.
