Styling Tip Do's

• Use a brush with metal for non-human hair wigs. Plastic will not go through wig fibers. You can also use your fingers to place into a style of your choosing.

• Holding the bangs down, take the brush and brush back with your fingers and put the top where you want it to be. Don’t pat down the top. Let it be loose with some movement. You can give it a “piecey” look with your fingers. Make sure your bangs are all going in the same direction (smooth or piecey.) You can brush the crown back or tease or use a pick for height and fullness.

• For short wigs, always comb sides up towards the crown. Pushing with care from the back of the wig gives the wig a fuller appearance. When finished styling, use only wig spray. Never, never use any human hair products on the fiber or human hair wig, only wig products.

Styling Tip Don'ts

• No Curling irons or blow dryers (only if human). Never expose your wig to excessive heat sources such as hot open oven door or near boiling water / steam, microwave, clothes dryer, barbecue grilling pit, cigarette lighter, dishwashers, saunas, jacuzzi or a fireplace, in the bathroom while taking a hot shower or in a very hot car. Your wig will get frizzy. It will not catch on fire or melt to your skin. It will then be unrepairable.

• Never use a brush on a wig with light curls. Use a pick with steel prongs, not plastic which doesn’t go through the wig fibers. Use your fingers to place your wig into a style of your choosing.

• If your wig gets rained on, do not comb the wig. Put the wig on a plastic wig stand to dry.  If you comb the wig while wet, it will get straight and lose whatever body it had.

• Don’t try to get every hair in place. This can end up making the finest wig look “wiggy.”

Wig Care

Shampoo

• Into a bowl of approximately one-half gallon of cool to cold water, put one capful of wig shampoo and mix completely, 2 capfuls if wig is long.
• Swish the wig gently up and down (do not rub).
• Rinse twice in clear cool to cold water. Do not run the water on it directly. It will take some of the body out.
• Removing Hair Spray Build-up
  If your wig has a lot of hair spray build-up, you need to add a tablespoon of baking soda to the wig shampoo solution and mix completely.
• Let it stay in bowl for 15 minutes then rinse the wig and shampoo again.
• You can wash your wig once or twice a month.

Conditioning

• Put one capful of wig conditioner only into empty bowl (approximately one half gallon), add water and mix completely. Leave the wig in the solution for 5 to 10 minutes.
• Rinse clear with water.
  The wig fibers are made with oils. Each time it’s shampooed, oils come out. The conditioner puts the oils back.

Drying

• Turn wig inside out and gently blot with dry towel then turn right side out.
• Shake the wig slightly and place on plastic wig stand to drip dry.
• Brush wig only when completely dry. When brushed the wig will go back to its original.
